Nursery and Early Years

Early Years- Nursery and Reception

Welcome to Early Years with  Mrs Roberts, Mrs Squires, Mrs O'Brien, Mrs Bennett, Miss Sadie and Miss Natasha.

Spring Term 2

Curriculum Vehicle - Creepy Crawlies!

This half term, our curriculum vehicle is ‘Creepy Crawlies'. We will also be covering 'Easter' so is set to be another busy one. Through our vehicle of 'Creepy Crawlies' we will be learning about a variety of bugs such as bugs that live underground, on the ground and bugs that fly. We will be making a bug hotel as our curriculum vehicle showcase and we will also be nurturing our own caterpillars until they change into butterflies.

Nursery will be continuing with their 'Family Learning' session each Monday morning at 08.50am till 09.05am. Reception have morning learning each day with parents with a special focus on 'News Writing' on a Tuesday morning. We really appreciate the support shown so far and really hope this continues. The children love the support from loved ones to write about their weekend adventures. This is a chance to support your child with their writing and to see their progress throughout the year. We also have a focus on reading on our Friday morning learning session where you can share a story book or a phonics reading book with your child.

Thank you to all the parents that have contributed to our planning this half term, we will try to cover as much of your suggestions as possible. We look at the children's special interests and next steps. We also ask them for their ideas, so collectively we have lots to cover! This half term we have got a ‘Minibeast Investigation'’ role-play indoors and a 'Garden Centre' role-play outdoors.

In Early Years, we really encourage and appreciate the input of parents/ carers and if you have any ideas that you have yet to give us that fit into our topic, or know of any special interests your child may have, please let your child's key person know. If you have any comments, questions or concerns about any part of your child’s time at school please talk to your child’s key person or alternatively Mrs Roberts.

Thank you for your continued support
