  • Year 5 and Year 6 Lent Challenge

    YEAR FIVE & YEAR SIX LENT CHALLENGE

     

    Well done to St Patrick’s team, green group, who organized the final week of our Lent Challenge.

    A collective effort which raised £551 for CAFOD.

    Well done to everyone involved, particularly our Y5 and Y6 children who used their talents and skills to create a whole school opportunity to raise funds for such a good cause.

    Thank you to all our parents for supporting them.

    SPORTS NEWS

    We are immensely proud of our Year 5 and 6 tag rugby team this week, who represented BMT in a Catholic schools tournament. They showed commitment, resilience and great sportsmanship as they won all 3 games that they played. Well done to everyone involved - we've brought home the gold!

  • Reception Class News

    Reception Class

    Reception have been looking at growing as part of their curriculum vehicle this half term.

     Whilst on a Spring walk looking for frogspawn in the conservation area the children discovered that the pond had no water in it and was filled with leaves. They asked if they could fill it with water again to attract wildlife.

    We set off with our wellies and went to work as a team to clear the leaves and to find the leak. We made a great start, it will take a bit more work but we are determined to achieve making an area for the wildlife and our school community!

    YEAR FIVE & YEAR SIX LENT CHALLENGE

     

    Well done to St Andrew’s team, blue group, who organized the Lent Challenge this week. They have been very busy with cake sales and games. The whole school have been really supportive and came ready to spend their money.

    There will be a variety of things to choose from with a range of cost from 20p to £1.

     

  • First Sacrament of Reconciliation

    Year 3

    On Thursday night, a group of children from of Year 3, along with some from Year 5 and 6 took their First Sacrament of Reconciliation. Year 3 have worked hard throughout the term to help prepare these children by learning the Act of Sorrow and understanding why this Sacrament is so important.

    Year 2 have been focusing on climates around the world in our geography learning.

    Today we had the opportunity to get inside the world and look at the position of countries around the world and think about what their climates might be.

    This week, year 5 have thought about our Lenten journey and almsgiving. They have made muffins to donate to our local church at St Austin's. Thank you Year 5!

    Year 4 took part in a ‘community litter pick’ along with staff from the local Spar shop as part of our community links within the local area.
