Nursery fun in school

Nursery team have been busy in school getting the rooms ready for the children.

Nursery

Friday 29th May, 2020

Dear children,

We are all looking forward to welcoming you back to Nursery on Monday.

You haven’t been to Nursery for a while because of the nasty virus but now you can safely return.

It is very exciting as you have been put into a group, called a bubble, with your friends.  Some of you will be in Mrs Squires and Miss Natasha’s orange bubble and some of you will be in Miss Sadie and Mrs Bennett’s red bubble.

Orange bubble will be choosing and learning in the Nursery classroom and red bubble will be choosing and learning in the Early Years classroom.

The classrooms are a little bit different.  We have had to make changes so that you can safely choose and learn and have lots of fun too!  There are some photographs of the classrooms to look at on the website.

Please arrive at nursery for 9 o’clock wearing youruniform.  Please bring a water bottle with you and a change of clothes and nappies/wipes – if you wear a nappy.  Please ask mummy, daddy or your carer to hand these items over on Monday (unbagged).  Please leave your spare clothes and nappies/wipes at Nursery.  You do not need to bring in anything else.

Please ask mummy, daddy or your carer to email us, if you have any questions about coming back to Nursery.

Have a wonderful weekend and we are really looking forward to seeing you on Monday.  We are all going to have such a great time.

With love from,

Mrs Squires and Miss Natasha (orange bubble)  xx

Miss Sadie and Mrs Bennett (red bubble)  xx

Hello!

This week we have been busy in school preparing for our potential return on the 1st June.

We know it’s going to be a difficult time for both parents and children returning, so we wanted to try and help by letting you see inside our new classrooms!

There are lots of changes but we will do our best to make the children feel at ease in their new environment. There is going to be no more than 9 children in each room with 2 adults.

If any parents have any questions please don’t hesitate to email us on our Reception email address.

Have a lovely half term holiday, enjoy a rest and most importantly stay safe and happy.

Kind regards,
Mrs Roberts and Mrs O’Brien

Look down on the ground and up in the sky. Can you talk about what you can see? Isn’t our planet absolutely amazing?
The nursery team are busy at home with their learning - just like you!
Mrs Squires is enjoying a nature walk with her family and little dog, Tommy. She is looking all around and talking about what she can see. Mrs Squires is very lucky seeing so many wonderful things today. She is looking up at the sky and is asking Mr Squires ‘why is the sky blue?’
Mrs Bennett is having a go at using her skills to peel fruit. She is making a healthy fruit salad for her snack today. Yummy, yummy!
Miss Sadie has drawn a wonderful picture of planet earth. She has used her phonic knowledge to label her picture too. Super learning Miss Sadie!
Please contact us if you would like any further activity ideas or advice. Kind regards,
Nursery team

•           News writing

Write sentences about what you have been doing at home with your family. Use your letter sounds. Keep reading your writing back to ensure it makes sense. Remember a capital letter at the start of your sentence, finger spaces after every word and a full stop at the end. Write as many sentences as you are capable of. You should ALWAYS be able to be read what you have written back.

 Maths

This week we are looking at calculating on a number line.

Can you make a large number line? This may be out of large number tiles or maybe using chalk outdoors. Ask the children to stand on a given number and find out what is 1 more or 1 less than a number. Really make sure that the child understands that 1 more is adding and that the numbers are getting bigger. Ensure the children know which way to move up the line. With one less obviously taking away and the numbers getting smaller.

Physical Development

Remember to think about how you look and feel before you exercise? How do you feel after? What effects does exercise have on your body?
