For more information about how we deliver Maths through the scheme 'Power Maths' can be found in the link below.
This half term in Maths we will be covering:
- Knowing 1 more/1 less up to 10 e.g. 1 more than 8 is 9. 1 less than 7 is 6.
- Adding with numbers to 10. First the children will do this practically using concrete objects and then if they are able to they will record their number sentences.
- Counting on up to 10. Can the children count on from 1 given number, instead of having to count the 5 from 1 again.
- Height- Comparing the height of objects. Using mathematical language such as short, shortest, shorter, tall, tallest and taller.
- Weight - Comparing the weight of objects. Using mathematical language such as heavy, heavier, heaviest and light, lightest and lighter.
- length - Comparing the length of objects. Using mathematical language such as short, shortest, shorter, long, longest and longer.
