Homework is set on Friday and is expected to be returned the following Friday.

Phonics

You will be emailed a list of links for the sounds your child has learnt that week, for you to watch and consolidate at home. If you have any queries about the phonics group your child is in or how they can progress to the next group, please do not hesitate to ask.

Reading

We ask that the children read a minimum of 4 times a week. The children will be given a phonics book and a share book from school which can be read at home. While it is very important for the children to practise reading at home, it is also important for the children to be read to by an adult or even an older sibling. This allows the child to experience the magic of reading without focusing on breaking down and blending the words. Planners are checked daily for reading, with 5 or more reads resulting in a special reward!

Maths

In year 2, we are working hard to learn our 2,5 and 10 times tables. Practicing these at home will make a huge impact on your child’s learning.
